The RTC Boot "Kraken" is a lightweight, non-waterproof, 3-season boot from the RTC series. The "Kraken" is designed as a shoe for active use, with highly breathable mesh fabric as a base, reinforced with 3D molded KPU elements.
This combination results in a very light but firm boot, which always offers the best foot climate and is also good on heavy terrain!
The Evazote cell foam midsole significantly reduces impact-stress on the foot and allows for fatigue-free running, even on tougher surfaces - along with the thickly padded shaft and padded tongue, the foot is always well protected and stabilized.
The eyelets for lacing are integrated into the, 3D shaped, chassis of the shoe and are complemented by 4 quick-lace hooks made of tough ABS which allow a quick on and off!
By using the 3D upper material KPU, it is possible to keep the shoe on very light and breathable in one hand, but also to increase the durability and insensitivity through countersunk seam channels and integrated eyelets on the other. The KPU layer is lined with polyester BK mesh, which ensures a quick removal of moisture. RTC uses high quality ripstop fabric in places where no KPU grid is used.
A coarse-grained, self-cleaning outsole made of rubber with soft-rolling bales ensures a secure grip in the terrain.
Advice for use: We recommend that boots are at least 8 hours broken in before first real use. The water-repellent properties of the shoe can be improved by impregnating spray, but we advise against the use of fat, oil and wax!
