The "BLITS" mount was developed for a military tender by Otto Repa, a well-known German gunsmith and developer who was instrumental in the development of the Picatinny rail and the WA2000, among others.
Originally developed for the U.S. Army's flat-top project for the M16 with the U.S. Army at Fort Benning, the mount was intended to accept a Zeiss ZF. The great focus on stability becomes clear when one internalizes that the system was originally designed to survive a 250cm drop onto concrete unscathed!
The one-piece quick release mount eliminates the need for tools to change the mount. The mount can be removed and re-installed in a single operation.
Due to the fact that the contact pressure of the mount is always the same, a readjustment of the optics is not necessary. Therefore, the mounting is ideal to quickly adjust the optics to the needs at any time. The protective jaws also protect the optics from damage by BBs
The mount consists of three components: The mount itself was milled from one piece and holds the clamping device as well as the movable, lockable, mounting blocks for the scope. The second component is the aluminum protective jaws that protect the scope and also allow it to accept close range sights! The third and last component are the two movable mounting blocks with their adapter rings. These mounting rings allow the individual mounting of scopes with 25 and 30mm diameter!
The quick release mounting allows the optics to be mounted on the rifle quickly and without tools! All metal parts are coated in matte black, 1x 2.5mm and 1x 4mm Allen key are required for mounting!
