Message from the operator:
The area called BunkerHill 2.0 is located in the heart of Lower Saxony, north-east of Celle between Eschede and Beedenbostel and is part of Eschede.
The Filmtier-Park is located in the immediate vicinity. The access road accessible to us is a side entrance to the former facility, the road is in relatively poor condition and the road does not have a name either.
We have a small, eye-catching sign for the access road and a larger one is in the works. To be on the safe side, we also have coordinates that can be used to find the road using navigation systems: 52°42'48.3 "N 10°16'06.1 "E

BunkerHill 2.0 is part of a former barracks that was initially used by British soldiers stationed in Germany and was later handed over to the Bundeswehr.
The Bundeswehr used these barracks to store ammunition. The entire site was searched for ammunition and ammunition remnants before it was handed over to the civilian population.

In our section there is a small building with 2 rooms, a toilet and a corridor connecting the rooms.
There are a total of 17 bunkers and 2 cisterns in an elongated spread, the cisterns are at the outermost points of the complex and are filled for the summer so that we have extinguishing water on site.
The playable section is approx. 2.7 ha in size. We are able to use the entire 3.75 ha twice a year. We have 6 fully playable bunkers on the surface, 4 half-playable bunkers and one cistern is also fully playable.
The inside of the bunkers is closed, as the area inside is a maximum of 50m² and these are storage areas, so there is only 1 room per bunker with 2 doors next to each other.
In our part of the complex there is a ring road that connects all the bunkers with each other and has 2 branches that lead to the site as well as to the rest of the barracks.
Since the handover, nature has reclaimed the green areas. Trees, bushes and shrubs grow behind, around and on top of the bunkers.
The flora is a gift for everyone, freshly filtered air, countless opportunities for exercise and, if you're lucky, you can even hear the wolves howling from the movie animal park.
